DEAR EDITOR: First, Barack Obama gave Ukraine sheets and blankets, not ammo, to fight Russia and Russia took Crimea — it was war and still is. Reject the SAVE Act to save our democracy

DEAR EDITOR: What’s in a word? We all know that words can be used to help us or hurt us. Words can even save us sometimes. The word save is an especially important word. It is loaded. The acronym SAVE which stands for Safeguard American Voter Eligibility is especially loaded. President Trump has demanded Congress pass the SAVE Act that would require voters to present hard copy proof of citizenship in order to register and/or vote and also to mandate that all absentee ballots be received by voting day. DEAR EDITOR: I would remind my fellow Americans of the devastating hurt caused by the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11. One can only imagine the thousands of American lives we could have saved if we destroyed the terrorist encampments when first discovered in Afghanistan. DEAR EDITOR: You would think U.S. Rep. Mike Rulli might know a thing or two about grocery stores and might have ideas on how the government can help bring down the cost of goods. I guess you would be wrong or maybe he is too busy buttering up to Trump. To date, no bills sponsored by Rulli have even been designed to help Ohioans. USPS needs overhaul to save some money

DEAR EDITOR: The United States Postal Service (USPS) has one job: deliver the mail. You write a letter, address it, and put a stamp on it that pays for the delivery service. It’s a lot more complicated than that, obviously, but when you get right down to it, that’s the only objective; deliver the mail in a timely fashion. But the USPS has been operating in the red nearly every year this century, now to the tune of $9 billion a year.
