DEAR EDITOR:

Yesterday was a better day in the ER at good old Warren General, aka St Joe’s, now Mercy Health. That is, according to the kind nurse, who admitted she was working four 14-hour shifts. Even as I walked into the lobby, the receptionist smiled.

I’ve had family in this hospital recently. Now, firsthand, I’d like to give a huge shoutout to the entire staff, nurses, labs, housekeeping, dietitians, residents and every other technician I’ve forgotten.

They’re amazingly upbeat and I’ve been in grocery retail since forever. I showed up through COVID and wore the mask. I went without. We all did.

These folks didn’t sign up for this. They must really love what they do to know there will be gurneys in the hallways again.
