The President, who unnecessarily started a war in Iran, always has time to golf while sending troops to fight and die for his war. Politicians, who will be enjoying another two-week shutdown, continue to receive paychecks. ICE agents idly wandering around airports receive their paychecks. But TSA agents who continue to come to work to keep the country safe have not received a paycheck since the shutdown began on Feb. 14. This is what our country has now become. Sad.

The Democratic Party continues their opposition to protecting Americans by not passing the SAVE Act. Why? Because they oppose ICE. Why? Because they don’t want illegal aliens deported. Why? They don’t want Americans to PROVE their citizenship to vote. Why? They fundamentally want to change our democratic republic into a socialistic state that THEY control! When you go to vote, think of your feelings about freedom, safety, and common sense. Reject all Democrats. They will destroy the USA if allowed!

Hmmm … public vs. parochial … two words vs. ongoing hazing … job termination vs. out-of-court settlements. Cases in point: Niles football coach’s inappropriate two -word comment vs Ursuline principals’, athletic director’s and coaches’ unacceptable behavior. None of the scenarios was commendable behavior, but the way each was handled is absurd. The Niles coach ‘s job was terminated. Ursuline’s many lawsuits were settled quietly with no personnel held accountable. Talk about inequities!

The ID shown by the Niles beer buyer in last week’s column would be a driver’s license or state ID. NOT acceptable under the Save Act. Birth certificate? Passport? NOT if a married woman took her husband’s last name! You have to show more! Many poor people, minorities and women don’t have this type of proof. Save America from what? What voter fraud? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this bill is nothing more than a gimmick to limit the Democrat vote! Thank the holdouts!

I can fix the standoff with the Democrats and DHS funding. Use the extra ICE funds to move ICE agents to the TSA checkpoints to help TSA folks MOVE things along. Bet TSA would get funded ASAP. Simple, really.

In 1997 Ohio Supreme Court ruled that funding schools with property tax was unconstitutional. The Ohio General budget was $51 billion in 2010 and increased to $93 billion in 2025, while property owners waited for legislation relief that hasn’t come. Ohio does not have a tax problem, Ohio has a spending problem. Abolish property tax and force stewardship of tax dollars by administrators and officials.

The Democrats say that Iran does not represent an imminent danger. Then why do we have a Department of Homeland Security? Iran finances terrorist activity throughout the world including the U.S. They supplied Russia with drones used to kill women and children in Ukraine. In June 2025 at least three U.S. bases in Syria and two U.S. bases in Iraq were attacked with missiles or drones, likely by Iranian-backed militias.
