Are we not entertained by Donald Trump?

DEAR EDITOR:

“Are we not entertained?”

This letter is written especially for my Catholic priests and bishops. Let’s go back a few years when Sen. Mitch McConnell refused to vote on President Barack Obama’s choice for a liberal justice to the Supreme Court. Make no mistake, this was the beginning of Project 2025.

“Are we not entertained?”

Jan. 6, 2021

Trump instigates thousands of his followers to stop a joint session of Congress, which was certifying the electoral votes of the 2020 presidential election, shouting, “Hang Mike Pence. ” This was Trump’s attempt to establish a “coup.”

Still silence.

“Are we not entertained?”

May 30, 2025?? Did he mean June 5, 2024?

Trump was convicted of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers.

Silence.

“Are we not entertained?”

November 2024

Trump is re-elected as president, continuing his ideologically driven Project 2025.

One of his projects was to cancel USAID to thousands of starving and sick children; Some 15,000 died in the first month as he burned 500,000 tons of food designated for those children.

Silence.

“Are we not entertained?”

I can go on and on. These are the things we have seen and experienced, but let’s move to Jan. 8, 2026. Trump’s ICE — a form of the SS and the Gestapo — shoots and kills a U.S. citizen who was trying to move away from another agent.

Is this a silence of fear or a silence of ignorance?

“Are we not entertained?”

Stand by. I’m sure there is more to come from this insurrectionist president.
