Victor L. Isenberg 1944-2025

CORTLAND — Victor L. Isenberg, 81, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at Hospice House, Poland.

He was born July 13, 1944, in Indiana, Pa., a son of the late Leroy and Elsie Fennell Isenberg.

Victor, affectionately known as “Bugs” and “Fuzz Head,” graduated from Indiana High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a cutter for Packard Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1997, and was a proud member of AA.

Victor was an avid reader and a frequent visitor to the Cortland Library. He enjoyed traveling and loved vacationing at Niagara Falls. He enjoyed watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, but mostly, he loved watching his granddaughters compete in their various sporting activities. Victor will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Kish Isenberg, whom he married Sept. 29, 1994: two sons, Mark (Lonnie) Isenberg of Cortland and Bruce Isenberg of Howland; two granddaughters, Isabella and Madeline Isenberg, both of Cortland; a brother, Thomas (Diann) Isenberg of Leavittsburg; two stepdaughters, LuAnne (Tom) McConnell of Austintown and Stacy (Larry) Birmingham of Phoenix, Arizona; four step-grandchildren, Angela (Nick) McCollum of Youngstown, Harry Baumgartner of Collierville, Tennessee, Ryan (Sarah) Birmingham of Poplar Grove, Illinois, and Brandon (Mirella Correa) Birmingham of Phoenix, Arizona; and four step-great-grandchildren, Axel and Melody of Youngstown, and Kylee and Carter of Poplar Grove, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Roger Isenberg, Janet Geer and Randall Isenberg.

A celebration of Victor’s life will be announced at a later date.

The family requests no flowers. Instead, if desired, donations may be made in Victor’s memory to Warren Family Mission, warrenfamilymission.org/.
