Flora Koukouras 1939-2025
WARREN — Flora Koukouras, 86, entered into eternal rest, Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Gillette Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Rhodes, Greece, the daughter of Filimona and Smaragda Ganotakis Lirantzis, coming to the United States in the fall of 1970.
A warm-hearted and lovely lady, Flora was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. She was well-known as the seamstress at Evaline’s who devoted decades to making the alterations on the wedding dresses. When at home, her passion for sewing never stopped, along with her time in her yard, gardening. Her greatest pleasure came from her time with her four precious grandchildren.
Precious memories of Flora live on with her two daughters, Smaragda “Sam” Koukouras Callow of Warren and Penny Koukouras Vardavas of Howland; four grandchildren, Alexis Flora Vardavas, Kristen Rene Vardavas, Jaclyn Callow and Dimitri Callow; and two sisters, Penny Lirantzis Lambis (Gust) of Warren and Mary Lirantzis Coliadis of Howland.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her beloved husband of 54 years, Phillip Koukouras, whom she married Jan. 12, 1964, and who passed April 26, 2018; her brother, John Lirantzis; and her brother-in-law, Steve Coliadis.
Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St. NE, Warren, OH 44481, where services will begin at 11 a.m. All who knew and loved Flora are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life.
Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
