Gertrude M. Moody 1948-2025
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. — Gertrude “Trudy” Mary Moody, 77, wife of Terry E. Moody, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, surrounded at the time of her passing by her husband, Terry, caretakers, Lula and Becky, and neighbor, Bill.
Trudy was born Feb. 22, 1948, in Niles, a daughter of the late Martin Kieltsch and the late Gertrude Kieltsch.
Trudy worked 10 years at Packard Electric in Warren before she left to raise their children and be a stay-at-home mom. Later, she worked at Hills and Ames department stores.
She was at her best baking and taking food in to share at her places of employment, and she was good at it. She loved the holidays. Christmas time required a full-size tree in every large room in her house. Decorating her home for every holiday was a pleasure.
She loved spending time with her husband, always ready to go for rides, going to country music shows in Wheeling, W.Va., and camping; always with a smile and a good word for everyone. Life’s simple pleasures made her happy.
Trudy and Terry shared 51 years of first dates, sitting beside each other to watch TV movies while still holding hands in later years.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, she is survived by children, Michael J. Moody (Janiece) of Bel Air, Maryland, and Martie J. Moody (Andrew Goforth) of Poulsbo, Washington; and sibling, Richard Kieltsch (Frances) of Aiken, South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Andrew Kieltsch and Helga Stone.
