Lenore L. Meredith Callihan 1932-2025
WARREN — Lenore L. “Lee” Meredith Callihan, 93, born in Warren, Ohio, on April 25, 1932, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025.
Lee was a native and lifelong Warren and Champion resident and the daughter of Eugene G. Meredith and Louise Morey Meredith, both deceased.
Lee graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in January 1950.
Lee retired from Warren Pump & Supply Co. as a billing secretary in 1992 and previously worked at General Electric Ohio Lamp Works for nearly 12 years. She was a member of Champion Presbyterian Church, where she was secretary of the Ladies Aid Society, worked with the senior outreach group, was a deaconess and enjoyed working within the church, especially helping to organize the rummage sales.
Lee enjoyed bowling in several leagues in the 1950s, traveling, crafts, gardening and decorating her home. A lifelong lover of animals, she especially loved her dogs, Suzie, Max, Pepper and Lucy, all deceased, and Molly.
She was known for her quick wit and ironic sense of humor and always enjoyed a funny story and a good laugh. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 32 years, James M. Callihan; her parents; beloved grandparents, George and Agnes Morey, who raised her; her loving husband of 20 years, Charles E. Lauer; her only sibling, Edward Meredith; and her oldest son, Bruce Reiner.
She is survived by three children, Valerie Lauer (Jim) Rose, C. Patrick (Sandra) Lauer and Lee E. (Laura, deceased) Reiner; one granddaughter, Jenna Rose (Matt) Leevy; and three great-granddaughters, Adelyn, Elena and Olivia Leevy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Champion Presbyterian Church; the Animal Welfare League; or any veteran’s organization.
Calling hours will be held noon to 1 p.m., with a funeral service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, OH 44483.
Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Champion Township.
