Vernon Moses 1951-2023
MIDDLEFIELD — Vernon Moses, 72, formerly of Mentor, passed away at UH Ahuja Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023.
Vernon was born May 18, 1951, to the late John and Ola Dessie Moses, in Jellico, Tennessee.
He worked doing maintenance for the Mentor Parks and Recreation department. When his children were younger, he coached baseball and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He liked going to auctions and also woodworking. He had a passion for horses and was the previous owner of racehorses.
Vernon will be greatly missed by his wife, Peggy; his children, Lisa Keglovich, Ann Boggs, Lori (Jerry) Hayes and Mickey (Erin) Moses; grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel (Shea), Cody (Ashley), Skyler (Amanda), Chandler (Jessica), Michael (Patty), Aaron (Kallie), Madison, AJ, Michael, McKenzie and Camden; and great-grandchildren, Landon, McKinley, Dakota, Kira, Hayden, Eisen, Lucas, Liam, Scout, Hudson and Branson; and siblings, Odas (Helen) and Kelsie (Theresa) Moses.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Otha Moses and Elvada Johnson.
Calling hours will be noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, with the service immediately following at 3 p.m., with Pastor Randy Kaser officiating.
