Mary Ann Ring 1938-2021
NILES — Beloved Mary Ann Ring, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 5:56 p.m. in her home, with her loving family by her side. She has taken her last breath on earth and is now breathing freely in Heaven in her forever home with God.
She was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Altoona, Pa., the daughter of the late Andrew Quirin and Ann Fronauer Quirin-Rodel.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She was an Avon sales representative from 1970 to 2015. Mary Ann was known as the “hostess with the mostest” during her 24 years at Red Lobster.
She was a member of St. Stephen Church. She devoted her time to her family and helping others wherever and whenever she could. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Mary Ann would agree that she always gave her heart and soul to ensure everyone was taken care of. There were no strangers to her. Her smile would light up any room, and her presence made you feel at home. Mary Ann was a true sweetheart and instantly loved by those she met. Daily, and to the very end, she prayed for everyone’s peace, happiness and well-being. In her spare time, she really enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She would send cards on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and events in a friend or her family’s life just to let them know she was thinking of them. She did not waste one minute of every day with her beloved “Darling Joe.”
Mary Ann married her husband, Joe Ring on Dec. 19, 1983. They both enjoyed their years together being retired. They took many rides to their cabin in Pennsylvania, enjoyed cooking together and working together in their gardens.
She is survived by four children, Faith (Donald) Yauger of Painesville, Hope Taneyhill-Galbreath of Niles, Christopher (Pennie) Taneyhill of Canfield and Timothy (Nan) Taneyhill of North Canton; three sisters, Carol Moore of Hollidaysburg, Pa., Gloria Talasky of Altoona, Pa. and Lorraine Brutche of Newton Falls; two brothers, Andrew “Jay” Quirin and Raymond Quirin, both of Altoona; 11 grandchildren, Jason Yauger, Amy Yauger-Garret, Victoria Galbreath-Schaepe, David Taneyhill, Chris Taneyhill Jr., Stephanie Taneyhill, Zachary Taneyhill, Alexandra Taneyhill, Daniel Taneyhill III, Darren Taneyhill and Matthew Taneyhill; and a daughter-in-law, Rosiland Taneyhill of Michigan. She is also survived by a large, loving family of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Taneyhill Jr.; a grandson, Brian P. Yauger; and a brother, Henry P. Quirin.
Mary Ann’s family would like to extend its sincere gratitude, on her behalf, to her physician Dr. William Eddy and her at-home care aide Millie, who helped keep her comfortable and showed her she was loved these past months while she was at home.
