WARREN — A city man was charged with several offenses after a Sunday night incident that began with police trying to pull over a car for dark window tint at Front Street and Nevada Avenue Southwest that matched the description of a vehicle that had been involved in gunfire hitting a house. Washington, 19, of Parkman Road NW was arraigned Monday in Warren Municipal Court on charges including felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and misdemeanor hit-skip. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved a groundbreaking new drug for advanced pancreatic cancer, offering U.S. patients a more effective treatment against one of the deadliest types of cancer. FDA officials gave expedited approval to the first-of-a-kind pill, called daraxonrasib, which blocks a mutated protein that fuels tumor growth in more than 90% of pancreatic cancer cases. MIAMI (AP) — The next tropical storm that develops in the Atlantic this hurricane season will be named Dolly, but the timing is pure coincidence and has no connection to Dolly Parton’s death Tuesday. Storm systems are named by procedures set by the World Meteorological Organization, and the lists of names are reused every six years. For the Atlantic region, the lists are alphabetical and alternate male and female names. This season started with Tropical Storm Arthur coming ashore on the U.S. Gulf Coast in June, and Tropical Storm Bertha dumped rain in Louisiana and Texas in July. ...
