Man killed in weekend crash in Lordstown

Staff report LORDSTOWN — A Salem motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon on state Route 45 south of Salt Springs Road after colliding with another vehicle. The Lordstown Police Department said Ronald Shasteen, 64, was driving his motorcycle south on Route 45 just before 1 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Karen Willaman, 76, pulled out of a business on the west side of the road and collided with Shasteen. The police department said no charges have been filed against Willaman, and the crash remains under investigation.

NEW YORK (AP) — Florida’s current dengue outbreak appears to be the largest in several decades in the continental United States. State health officials reported this week that more than 250 locally acquired cases of the mosquito-borne disease have been tallied so far this year.
