WHAT: Township trustees meeting April 27
PRESENT: Pete Augusta, Doreen Lutz and John Nemet
Trustees:
• Reviewed the status of the gas aggregation program.
• Approved $12,000 payment for new roof and siding for West Side Cemetery Building — completed.
• Approved disbursement for resurfacing of second half of Salt Springs Road between state Route 534 and Newton Tomlinson Road.
• Renewed website services with iPanda Designs LLC.
• Contracted with LYA Concrete Inc. to repair catch basins at administration building parking lot for $16,500 to be offset by dropoff grant funds awarded by the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District.
• Entered into an agreement for legal services with attorney Patrick Wilson from Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell LTD.
• Approved up to $4,000 for crack sealing roads.
• Approved contracting with the county engineer to pave and seal all or a portion of Ticknor Avenue, Woodland Street, Superior Avenue, Prospect Street, Maple Drive and Broad Street in Newton Township (approximately $150,000).
• Approved donations to local veterans’ organizations toward Memorial Day expenses.
