WHAT: Board of education meeting April 8

The board:
• Approved 42 seniors for graduation at 7 p.m. May 23 at the high school.
• Approved pay-to-participate for the 2026-27 school year at $100 per sport for high school students and $75 per sport for middle school students with a maximum of $300 per family.
• Approved participating in the governor’s attendance dashboard that shows student attendance in public schools throughout the state.
• Approved Jennifer Armour as special education supervisor effective Aug. 1 on a two-year contract.
• Heard from Superintendent Chris Dray that because of low kindergarten enrollment, there will not be a need for three kindergarten teachers for 2026-27, so one teacher will be moved to a Title 1 position where there will be a teacher retirement.
• Approved a member agreement with Bristolwood Golf Course for use of the course by the golf team.
• Approved an agreement with the Trumbull County Educational Service Center for special education services for fiscal year 2027 at $707,026.
• Approved an agreement with DataCom at $77,913 for the district’s Wi-Fi network upgrade. Officials said the district expects to receive an E-rate reimbursement for 80% of the cost.
• Approved high school band and choir trip to Cedar Point on May 28 sponsored by the Bristol Association of Music.
• Announced the school art show will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the school complex gymnasium.
