Hartford names new fiscal officer
HARTFORD — Former Hartford fiscal officer Kristine Wilson has returned to her former position as trustees approved her appointment following a recent resignation.
Trustee Rebecca Whitman said trustees last month had accepted the resignation of Robin Snyder as fiscal officer effective Jan. 31.
This month, trustees approved Wilson to serve this year and next year as fiscal officer for Snyder’s term. Snyder won in the November general election, but decided to step down from the position.
Snyder was approved two-and-a-half years ago when Wilson had to step down because of her other job’s responsibilities.
Whitman said if Wilson wants to continue in the position, she will need to run in the November 2027 general election. She said Wilson informed trustees that she could fulfill the duties of the fiscal officer.
Whitman said trustees also are in the process of hiring an administrative assistant for the township building.
She said the previous assistant has stepped down, and there has not been anyone in the position for six months. Whitman said trustees agreed there needs to be someone in the position to handle the day-to-day needs of the township. Interviews for the position will be Thursday.
In other business, Whitman said the park committee met recently to discuss plans for monthly events in the community this spring and summer, with the first event an Easter egg hunt on March 28.
She said the committee is planning fundraisers and other events.
In other matters, trustees:
• Named Mark Fox as an alternate to the zoning board for a five-year term.
• Set township cleanup day for May 16.
• Announced the trustee association meeting will be March 19 at the Liberty Township administration building.
