FOWLER — A Vienna man riding a snowmobile was killed Sunday evening by a plow truck on state Route 305.

The Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a news release that Richard Coelho Jr., 49, was traveling south on Ridge Road on a 1999 Ski-Doo snowmobile when a salt / plow truck driven by Dale Onstott, 45, of Hartford, struck him just before 6:30 p.m. as he was headed west on Route 305.

The patrol said Coelho came to a stop within the intersection beyond the stop sign on Ridge Road and was struck by the plow truck. Coelho, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
