Niles man indicted on more than a dozen child sex charges
Alleged victims younger than 13
WARREN — A Niles man indicted this week on more than a dozen child sex charges will be arraigned Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Brian C. Christensen, 43, of Beaver Avenue, was indicted on five counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape and six counts of gross sexual imposition, all with sexually violent predator specifications, and two additional counts of gross sexual imposition. He will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday before Judge Ronald Rice.
The Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office said the offenses occurred over a period of five years, from April 2020 through this year. Two victims were between the ages of 9 and 10 when the alleged offenses occurred and the third alleged victim was under the age of 13.
Also indicted this week was Jimmie L. Shuman Jr., 52, of Hobart Road in Leavittsburg, on charges of tampering with coin machines, theft and criminal damage. Prosecutors said Shuman is accused of breaking into the Cortland Auto Spa to steal coins on Nov. 7.
Shuman’s indictment states he was convicted on a theft charge in Warren Municipal Court in 2011.
A man from Delaware also was indicted on charges of failure to register his address and gross abuse of a corpse. The prosecutor’s office said an arrest warrant has been issued for Francis P. Brennick, 57, of Frankford, Delaware, for a Dec. 7, 2024, case investigated by Brookfield police and the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office.
The three were among 32 indictments handed up by a Trumbull County grand jury. The following cases will have arraignments scheduled within the next two weeks:
• Kathleen M. McGovern, 44, North River Road, Warren, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle with specification for forfeiture, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine.
• Devin Barnes, 37, Parkman Road, Warren, theft.
• April L. Hacker, 36, Stoneybrook Drive, Hubbard, receiving stolen property.
• Katina L. Guerini, 45, Highlawn Avenue SE, Warren, possession of cocaine with specification for forfeiture and aggravated possession of drugs.
• Daniel A. Lazzari, 50, South Elruth Avenue, Girard, failure to comply with order / signal of police officer.
• George E. Keller, 47, Spaite Drive, East Palestine, two counts passing bad checks and forgery.
• Jade A. McBride, 31, North Bentley Avenue, Niles, endangering children and domestic violence.
• Anthony J. Vaccaro, 33, Fairview SE, Warren, possession of fentanyl-related compound.
• Michael Ray Crain, 51, Ridge Avenue SE, Warren, six counts trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine with specification for forfeiture, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and aggravated possession of drugs.
• Savanna M. Rausch, 39, Brown Street, Niles, possession of cocaine, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and aggravated possession of drugs.
• Jason T. Huey, 36, Linden Avenue, Warren, burglary.
• Michael Derr, 32, Mansell Drive, Liberty, two counts of felonious assault with repeat violent offender specifications, having weapons while under disability and two counts of domestic violence.
• Austin Lunsford, 32, Risher Road SW, Warren, obstructing official business.
• Khadija S. Abdul-Aziz, 37, Parkman Road NW, Warren, burglary and harassment with a bodily substance.
• Patricia Duncan, 39, Parkman Road SW, Warren, burglary.
• Tia M. Rutherford, 39, Newton Drive, Newton Falls, aggravated possession of drugs.
• Brian J. Clay, 51, Warren Avenue, Niles, two counts of having weapons while under disability; theft; and possessing criminal tools.
• Chelsea Hunter, 22, Tibbets Wick Road, Liberty Township, theft.
• Jeffrey Pecoraro, 53, McDonald Avenue, Niles, aggravated possession of drugs and OVI.
• Tyler A. Bartley, 28, New Brighton, Pa., two counts harassment with a bodily substance and criminal damaging / endangering.
• Rodney A. Grace, 48, Taggart Drive, Wellsville, aggravated possession of drugs.
• Ryan T. Battison, 41, Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard, burglary and two counts of violating a protection order.
• Demetrius D. Ward, 49, Drummond Avenue, Youngstown, possession of cocaine.
• Timothy J. Lambert, 60, Mahoning Court, Newton Falls, theft from a person in a protected class and receiving stolen property.
• Myles Washington, 27, McBride Street, Youngstown, strangulation and domestic violence.
The following misdemeanor cases were remanded to a lower court:
• Elizabeth I. Banks, 58, Hobart Road, Leavittsburg, tampering with coin machines, theft and criminal damage.
• Venita Y. McCall, 43, Porter Street NE, Warren, criminal trespass.
• Brenton M. Fisher, 23, Scott Avenue, Niles, domestic violence.
