Man accused of damaging ATMs
LIBERTY — A Youngstown man accused of damaging ATMs at a Belmont Avenue bank is set to appear in court again today, according to court records.
Keyshawn Blalock, 27, made an initial appearance on a felony charge of breaking and entering and a misdemeanor charge of theft. He pleaded not guilty in Girard Municipal Court Wednesday morning.
According to a police report, officers were called between the midnight and afternoon shift change Tuesday to investigate an alarm drop at the First National Bank on Belmont Avenue, in reference to an ATM room door’s burglary alarm.
The report states that it was clear someone had attempted to gain access as there were fresh footprints in the snow on the sidewalk near the ATM’s entry door, its service door was open and there were several wet and snowy footprints inside the ATM room.
Officers located several footprints from the same shoe coming from the north and running back northbound, and a police dog tracked them to the back door of the Days Inn.
Officers continued to investigate the next day, speaking with a bank representative who provided surveillance photos of the man entering the ATM room.
The photos were sent to Liberty officers, and the reporting officer recognized Blalock, who was wearing the same outfit he had worn in front of Chipotle while en route to the bank.
Blalock was located by officers and arrested without incident.
Blalock is being held without bail in the Trumbull County jail, court records show.
