Fireworks thrown through Warren home in suspected arson
WARREN — Police are investigating a suspected aggravated arson incident after lit fireworks were thrown through the front door of a residence late Saturday night, police said.
According to a Warren police report, the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Saturday at a single-family home in the 1500 block of Oak Knoll Avenue SE. Officers responded to a call reporting that an individual had thrown fireworks through the front door, shattering the glass and filling the living room with smoke.
A resident of the home told police she and her children were asleep when she heard glass breaking. Upon investigating, she discovered the broken front door and extinguished fireworks in the living room. No fire ignited, and no injuries were reported, but the door was damaged, police said.
The Warren Fire Department responded to the scene and notified the state fire marshal, who will conduct a further investigation, according to the police report. Officers cleared the scene after the initial response.
