Ex-Newton Township man sentenced for gun and drug charges
WARREN — A Trumbull County man, who Warren city police had termed a dangerous type, was sentenced last month to federal prison on convictions for gun and drug charges.
Justin Bradley, 31, whose last address was listed at Queens Drive in Newton Township, pleaded guilty Feb. 24 to counts of distribution of methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm. On June 23, records show U.S. Judge Patricia Gaughan sentenced Bradley to 57-month concurrent terms for both charges.
Bradley, who also was fined $200, faces up to three years of supervised parole after he is released from prison.
Bradley already was incarcerated at the state processing prison center in Orient when he faced the federal charges earlier this year.
According to the federal indictment, Bradley was charged with distributing an undetermined amount of methamphetamine and carried a Model CZ .40-caliber pistol Nov. 27, 2019. Bradley also was ordered to forfeit the firearm.
Trumbull County Common Pleas Court records show Bradley was sentenced Oct. 27, 2020, to serve 15 months in state prison after he pleaded guilty before Judge Peter J. Kontos on one count each of carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon as a convicted felon. That case sprung from Bradley’s July 5, 2020, arrest by Warren police officers after they stopped his car and searched it at Youngstown Road and East Avenue SE. In that report, police officers noted that Bradley had a criminal record for drugs, guns and violence.
Bradley also was picked up by Warren police May 17, 2019, for alleged drug use at a Buckeye Avenue SW address, and court records show that Bradley on March 7, 2019, pleaded guilty to four counts — possession of heroin, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drugs. In that case, Bradley was sentenced by Judge W. Wyatt McKay to a five-year probation that was terminated Nov. 5, 2020.
