WHAT: Board of education meeting April 20

PRESENT: Anna Martin, William Cummings, Josh Barr, Donald Newell and Amanda O’Neill

The board:

• Approved the following donations: $1,354 to the STEAM Program from Laura McCleery and Tiffany Marian; $600 to the Elementary Principal’s Fund from the Hubbard Elementary Parents Association; an anonymous $539 donation to the Hubbard Community Pool and an anonymous $300 to Hubbard Athletics; $100 to the Food Pantry in memory of Tony Carsone from Jim Kerrigan.

• Accepted secretary Karen Hinkle’s retirement resignation, effective June 1.

• Accepted custodian Eugene Swartz’s retirement resignation, effective June 1.

• Accepted bus aide Cheryl Witt’s retirement resignation, effective June 1.

• Approved modifying Nicole Caldwell’s transportation contract from 4 hours to 4.5 hours.

• Approved a one-year limited contract to Alyssa Longwell, 5th & 6th-grade English Language Arts Teacher, for the 2026-27 school year.

• Approved the re-employment of George Lanterman for the 2026-27 school year, on a one-year limited retire/rehire contract pursuant to the Hubbard Education Association collective bargaining agreement effective through June 30, 2028.

• Approved a contract between Therapeutic Strength-Based Services and the district, beginning Aug. 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, at no charge to the district.

• Approved the Success by Six Memorandum of Agreement with the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley for the 2026-27 school year.

• Approved a one-year, limited 189-day contract for Brandon Struble, bus driver.
