Three men indicted in Sept. 5 slaying
YOUNGSTOWN – Three men were indicted last week by a Mahoning County grand jury in connection to a Sept. 5 fatal shooting on Belden Avenue.
Vincent Reber, 21, of Mathews Road, Boardman, his brother Derrick Reber, 19, Sheridan Road, Youngstown, and Lorenzo Hilton, 26, of South Schenley Avenue, Youngstown, were all indicted on felony charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary with firearm and repeat violent offender specifications.
The charges carry potential life prison sentences.
Police have accused the three in the shooting death of 28-year-old Daniel Sanford who was found near midnight inside a Belden Avenue home. Police learned Hilton and Vincent Reber were wounded in an alleged gunfight.
Hilton and Vincent Reber, who were treated at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, police said, are in the Mahoning County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond. Derrick Reber was arrested after he fled to Pittsburgh, and authorities said he awaits extradition.
