County plan for relief funds still missing

COVID-19 cases rise for third-straight day

The number of COVID-19 cases in Ohio has increased daily for the past three days. There were 6,296 new cases reported Wednesday compared to 5,533 Tuesday, 4,212 Monday and 3,445 Sunday. The cases reported Wednesday was the highest for Ohio since 6,530 were reported Sept. 30. COVID-19 cases begin to decline in Ohio

The average number of daily COVID-19 cases in Ohio is declining, but the state is still far away from getting out of the pandemic. The 21-day daily average case number Tuesday was 6,094, according to the Ohio Department of Health. That’s down from 6,617 just a week ago. Ohio hasn’t exceeded 6,617 cases in a day since Sept. 28 with 7,283. But it’s still considerably higher than the average of about 260 cases per day in mid-July.
