Virus rates hit new highs in Ohio

Ohio again shattered its record for the most COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents. And that doesn’t even count those who tested positive with at-home kits and didn’t see a doctor or go to a hospital. It was the third straight week with record high COVID-19 cases per 100,000. Mahoning, state nursing homes see case surge

The number of COVID-19 cases rose at several Mahoning County nursing homes this week; at the same time, the number of cases rose dramatically among the general population in Ohio. The biggest surge among Mahoning County nursing homes was at the Canfield Acres LLC Windsor House at Canfield nursing home on state Route 446. The Ohio Department of Health indicated on its website that Canfield Acres had no COVID-19 cases last week but said it has 21 cases this week — 11 among patients and 10 among staff.
