Apple festival set in Hartford

HARTFORD APPLE FEST: The Hartford Apple Festival will be Friday to Sunday at the township center, state Routes 7 and 305. The event will include live music, a car show, food concessions, carnival games and a parade. There will be a queen pageant at 7 p.m. Friday, a pet parade at 10 a.m. Saturday and kids peddle tractor pull at noon Saturday. On Sunday, there will be a church service at 10:30 a.m., apple pie eating contest at 1 p.m. and apple peeling contest at 2 p.m. The car show will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Hartford United Methodist Church parking lot. Yearly rally set to celebrate recovery

ASAP RALLY: The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention’s annual Rally for Recovery will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastwood Field, Niles. People in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs, their families, friends, addiction treatment professionals, elected officials and other allies are invited to celebrate recovery as part of National Recovery Month. Cleanup Day set for Saturday

CLEANUP DAY: Youngstown CityScape and 422 United: Clean and Green are joining forces for 2025 World Cleanup Day Saturday as volunteers take to the street from 9 a.m. to noon along Route 422, Martin Luther King Boulevard and nearby streets to beautify the area. Lunch will be at Stambaugh Park in Girard. Participants will include Vallourec, officials and residents from the cities of Youngstown and Girard, Metalico Youngstown and representatives of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition.
