It seems like just yesterday we were taking down the Christmas tree and putting away all our holiday decor, and once again the holiday season is upon us! As a farmer, not only do we have to take care of the normal holiday prep, but we also must plan for any upcoming holiday events and travel and how those will be covered at the farm. Although it takes extra planning, and sometimes even extra work (weather depending), the holiday season on the farm holds an extra special place in my heart. Champion sets tree lighting
CHAMPION TREE LIGHTING: The third annual Champion Township Christmas tree lighting will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the township administration building, 240 Marshall Ave. There will be food trucks on site, pictures with Santa, goodie bags, children’s crafts and a cookie table. There also will be a charity raffle with proceeds to support Champion High School scholarships. Nominate Niles holiday lights
ROTARY CHRISTMAS CONTEST: The Niles Rotary Club is hosting the Great Holiday Light Fight, where people can nominate a Niles residence for the Christmas decorating contest. Entries are open until Dec. 15, with the winner to be announced Dec. 18. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. A list of displays that receive an honorable mention will be published.
