Yearly rally set to celebrate recovery

ASAP RALLY: The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention’s annual Rally for Recovery will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastwood Field, Niles. People in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs, their families, friends, addiction treatment professionals, elected officials and other allies are invited to celebrate recovery as part of National Recovery Month. There will be activities for children, music for all ages and a picnic lunch. The event is free and open to the public. ASAP is under the umbrella of the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board. The Warren City Health District’s Informational Table will be at the rally and walk. FREE LUNCH: Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, will hold a drive-through, free lunch giveaway from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the church’s parking lot.

CAR SHOW: Ali Baba Grotto, 760 Perkins Jones Road, Warren, is presenting its annual car show to benefit children with special needs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Grotto.

Registration for cars will be from 10 a.m. to noon, breakfast at 9 a.m. and lunch at noon. Car registration is $10. There will be dash plaques to the first 50 cars registered.
