VOTER DRIVE IN WARREN: The League of Women Voters of Trumbull County will be at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday to mark National Voter Information Day. This day has been set with Leagues throughout the state to help give nonpartisan information to all who have questions on the upcoming election. If you are not registered, do so now. Check your status with the Board of Elections and get information at our table at the Warren Library.
JCC VOTER DRIVE: The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation will host a voter registration drive with the League of Women Voters 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane. Participants will be able to register to vote and check their voter registration status. Absentee ballot request forms and polling site location information will be available. Sept. 16 is National Voter Registration Day. Founded in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right to vote.
FALL FEST: The Warren Farmers Market's annual Fall Fest will be 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the North Park Commons, 347 N. Park Ave. in downtown Warren. This free family-friendly event will feature seasonal favorites, live entertainment and festive fun for all ages. Fall Fest is a celebration of community, harvest and all things autumn. Visitors can expect a vibrant mix of local vendors offering farm-fresh produce, handmade goods, fall decor, specialty food items, raffle giveaway and crafts. The last Warren Farmers Market of the season is Sept. 30.
WELLNESS ON WHEELS: The Warren City Health District's Wellness on Wheels mobile health unit will be onsite 6 to 8 p.m. today at Grace AME Church, 1137 Main Ave. SW, Warren, for its Men's Wellness Day. For information, call 330-841-2596.
GIRARD BLOCKWATCH: The Girard Second Ward block watch will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Girard Library.
FARMERS MARKET: The Girard Farmers Market will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the city municipal building parking lot, corner of Market Street and State Street. There will be various vendors.
FALL PREVENTION: The Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., will host a free program "A Matter of Balance" 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Participants will learn fall prevention strategies. For information, call Laura at 330-545-6596.
FALL CLEANUP: Newton Township will host a one-day fall cleanup, e-waste and appliance collection for residents of the township 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the township administration building, 4410 Newton Falls-Bailey Road. Items that will not be accepted are tires, hazardous waste, garbage, daily trash, business waste or construction materials. Limit of one pickup truck load of debris, scrap or unusable items per household.
ALUMINUM SCRAP DRIVE: Delightful Evangelical Church, 2472 Barclay Messerly Road, Southington, is hosting an aluminum can / scrap drive 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Items that will not be accepted are glass bottles and cups, cardboard, newspapers, food containers, steel cans, electronics and tires. For information, call 330-399-4395.
SURVIVORS GROUP TO MEET: Brain Injury Family Education & Survivor Support Group meetings will resume at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland-Wilson Road NE, Warren. The BIFE & SSG offers a relaxed environment in which individuals can learn about recovery from brain injury, brain trauma and other brain health issues. In addition, members share experiences and gain support from others.
All meetings are free of charge; no registration is required.
ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY PROGRAM: The Mahoning Valley Archaeological Society will host a special presentation at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Ohio State University Extension, 490 S. Broad St. Canfield. Speaker Charlie Fulk of Ashland, a long-term surface hunter, collector of prehistoric artifacts and artifact adviser with more than 35 years of speaking engagements on associated archaeological subjects. He will offer a presentation on Ohio flint types with a question-and-
answer session to follow. The public and members of MVAS are encouraged to bring their artifacts and frames for identification, understanding age and function.
The society also will have a raffle basket bonanza and dinner fundraiser 4 to 10 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Five Distillery, 47 N. Center St., Newton Falls. Live music will be provided.
