Farm Bureau sets yearly meeting

FARM BUREAU MEETING: The Trumbull County Farm Bureau will host its annual meeting 6 p.m. Thursday at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds, 899 Everett Hull Road, Cortland. The event will begin with a social period at 6 p.m., with dinner and a business meeting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will include electing trustees and delegates, establishing policies that guide the organization, and voting on code changes and a game night.
Register by calling the office or sending a check. Tickets are $15 per member, $20 per nonmember, $5 for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free. Online registration is available with no discounted rate. Reservations are required by Monday. GALA AT KINSMAN HOUSE: The Warren Heritage Center and the GFWC Ohio Warren Junior Women’s League will host the 13th annual Gala at the Kinsman House 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at 303 Mahoning Ave., Warren. There will be a wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, basket raffle and entertainment.

CEMETERY WALK: The McKinley Memorial Library will host a cemetery walk from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the St. Stephen Cemetery in Niles. A library representative will provide a guided tour of the cemetery highlighting the stories on several Niles individuals. The tour will last one hour. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. The program is free to the public. In case of inclement weather the program will be canceled.
COOKBOOK CLUB: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will host a cookbook club at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Cookbook fans are invited to discuss a new cookbook or theme each month at the McKinley Birthplace Home. This month’s discussion will be on “The Blue Zones Kitchen” by Dan Buettner.
CLEANUP IN WARREN: Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste District will host a citywide cleanup from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Trash bags, vests and pickers will be provided. Volunteers are invited to a light lunch at noon at Grace AME Church in Warren. For information call 330-647-6301, ext, 301.
EPILEPSY AWARENESS: Purple for Palmer, a nonprofit organization created to support Palmer Beasley, will host an Epilepsy Walk in the Youngstown area to benefit area families affected by epilepsy and to help with the high school scholarship fund.
Purple for Palmer will host the third annual Epilepsy Walk on Sunday at The Kyle Pavilion at Harding Park in Hubbard.
Purple for Palmer is a nonprofit organization created by Meghan Beasley and nurses from St. Elizabeth’s Boardman Hospital to support Palmer Beasley. Palmer was diagnosed with epilepsy in February of 2022. She has since been 3 years seizure- free. Being the 3rd year, the group chose a “color walk” as its theme. Walkers will not only enjoy honoring epilepsy warriors and learn about epilepsy, but there will also be a Chinese auction, Children’s tattoos, face painting, food vendors, crafts / vendors, DJ / Music, ice cream and coffee trucks.

EVENING OF MUSIC: The Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., will host an evening of music and worship at 6 p.m,. Sunday. The family-friendly event will feature acoustic music and brass. Musical requests can be emailed to girardumc1@sbcglobal.net
