Warren Mission to host picnic

Seeing Eye

MISSION PICNIC: The Warren Family Mission, 155 Tod Ave. NW, will host a free community cookout, “Grill, Chill and Connect,” 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. There will be local resources, agencies, food, games, a dunk tank and children’s activities. The event is presented by the mission and On Demand Counseling with New Day Recovery. Scheduled to attend are addiction treatment, mental health and peer support services, employment and re-entry resources, free hygiene items and haircuts.

CHURCH CELEBRATES 75 YEARS: The East Side Church of Christ, 1750 Niles Road, Warren, will host its 75th anniversary celebration 6 p.m. today, noon Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday. Guest speaker is Dennis Reynolds at 6 p.m. today. An outdoor celebration will be at noon Saturday with food and fellowship. Guest speaker is Leslie Jackson at 11 a.m. Sunday. Host minister is Nick Kelson.

MOVIE HISTORY: A “Let’s Go to the Movies” presentation will take place 5 p.m. Monday at the Liberty library, 415 Churchill Hubbard Road. Marcia Levy, a local historian, will journey through cinema and explore the stories behind some favorite films. From the actors who brought characters to life to the inspirations behind the scripts and the unforgettable music that shaped each scene, this presentation dives into what makes these movies truly memorable. Registration is required by calling 330-759-2589. The event is free.

CAR AND BIKE SHOW: Armstrong has partnered with Veterans’ Outreach to host the “End of the Road” car and bike show noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Austintown Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Registration is 10 a.m. to noon for cars, trucks and motorcycles at $10. Spectators are free. There will be a 50-50 raffle, food vendors and musical performances. Proceeds will benefit Veterans’ Outreach. For information, call 330-953-0653.

FREE CONCERT: Corner House Christian Church, 6964 Chestnut Ridge Road, Hubbard, will present a free concert with speaker, comedian and musician Tony Wolf at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A love offering will be accepted. Proceeds to help children who are living in poverty.

CONCERT IN VIENNA: Vintage Vinyl will perform 6 p.m. Sunday at the center park gazebo, 4275 Warren Sharon Road. The band will perform ’60s and ’70s rock songs.

Guests are asked to bring their own seating.

Concerts will be held through Aug. 17. In case of rain, the concert will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Center.
