HISTORY WALK: The Brookfield Historical Society will host a History Walk of the Center at 1, 1:30, 2 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday. This walk will focus on the Township Green and its surrounding historical landmarks that housed the beginnings of what has become Brookfield Township. Tour guides will lead groups through the center beginning at Brookfield’s newest business, Ripley’s Scoop Shop. The walk will be less than a mile on mostly flat terrain.
Registration will be at the ice cream shop. Free parking will be available at Brookfield Methodist Church, at the center and at the Briceland Funeral Home parking lot.
CHRISTMAS IN JULY: Cafe Rose, 4491 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, is hosting its annual Christmas In July market noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The market will feature local artisans, crafters and bakers offering unique, handcrafted goods and festive finds. Beyond the festive shopping experience, the market will support local seniors with a basket raffle and personal care item collection.
All proceeds and items collected will directly benefit the Senior Support Action Group, a local organization dedicated to providing vital services and support to seniors in the community. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the market. Shoppers also will have the opportunity to secure five raffle tickets by donating essential personal care items for homebound seniors.
Shoppers are encouraged to bring new, unopened items such as soap, shampoo, adult incontinence pads, toothpaste, lotion and other toiletries to the market.
BRAIN INJURY GROUP TO MEET: The Brain Injury Family Education and Survivors Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road, Warren. The Support Group is free and available to all survivors and family members and / or caregivers. The support group offers socialization and fundamental information and education about brain injury and common challenges survivors and families are confronted with.

LEARN ABOUT PTSD: The McKinley Memorial Library will present “Understanding PTSD with Cadence Care Network,” 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Birthplace Home, Niles.
Adults can learn about post-traumatic stress disorder with Ms. Barb, LISW with Cadence Care Network and adjunct professor at YSU. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, ext. 3.

USA DANCE: The local USA Dance Youngstown Warren Chapter is sponsoring a July Dance Sunday at the historic Avon Oaks Ballroom, 1401 N. State St., Girard. The evening features ballroom dance lessons sponsored by local dance instructor David Walker and Jodi England.
The evening will start with a 5 p.m. East Coast swing basics, a 5:30 p.m. intermediate swing lesson and general dancing 6:15 to 9 p.m. Club DJ Susan Ryan will play a mix of ballroom, rhythm, Latin, swing and club dance music.
