Veterans Christmas set at Moss Home

MOSS HOUSE VETERANS HOLIDAY: The Moss Ancestral Home, 1499 Burnett St., Mineral Ridge, will hold a Veterans Christmas on Sunday. A tree lit with real candles and decorated with ornaments celebrating veterans will have showings at 1 p.m , 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Carols associated with the Civil War, World War I and World War II will be sung by Addison Goche, a Mineral Ridge student, along with some students from Seaborn Elementary. Space is limited. There will be a small gift for the veterans made by Tenley McElhaney.
The Mineral Ridge Historical Society house, across the street from the Moss Ancestral Home, will be open for visitors to view the history of Mineral Ridge.
DEDICATION OF CHAPEL: Second Baptist Church will hold its 108th anniversary celebration and the re-dedication of its historic chapel in honor of the nation’s veterans 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 1510 Main Ave. SW, Warren.
The worship service will feature guest preacher, the Rev. Samuel N. Winston Jr., pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton and president of the Ohio Baptist General Convention. Following the service, there will be a “grand reopening” ceremony of the chapel, originally constructed in 1919 at 109 Walnut St. and relocated to its present site in the 1970s.
The ceremony will feature a special dedication to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including veterans, active duty members, and POW / MIA service members.
Festivities also include the release of the “Celebration of Service” commemorative book that honors veterans and service members in the community.
SURVIVORS OF SUICIDE: The 26th annual candelight vigil by Survivors of Suicide, in remembrance of people lost to suicide, is 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at Good Shepherd Community Church, 4600 Eagle Creek Road, Leavittsburg.

100 YEARS AT ST. JOES: Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley is hosting celebratory events Nov. 19 to commemorate 100 years of health care provided by Mercy Health-St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
A special Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. by The Most Rev. David J. Bonnar at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church, 232 Seneca Ave. NE, Warren. A cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. at Eastwood Event Centre, 5555 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles, followed by a dinner and program at 7 p.m.
Reservations are not required for Mass, but admission is required for the cocktail hour, dinner and program.
