Deley to receive labor achievement honor

Tony Deley, who is affiliated with Ironworkers Local 207 in Boardman, will receive the Salute to Labor Achievement Award during the Salute to Business event 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 28 at the Eastwood Event Centre, 5555 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles.

Deley is one of six individuals and organizations the Youngstown / Warren Regional Chamber will recognize. He is business manager / financial secretary / treasurer for Ironworkers Local 207.

This award recognizes labor officials or groups that exemplify the spirit of today’s cooperative labor-management environment and / or positively and significantly enhance the economic vitality or position of the Mahoning Valley.

The honor will be presented by the Western Reserve Building Trades.

Other awards to be presented are Business Professional of the Year, John Miles, president and CEO of Steelite International; Business Advocate of the Year, Tim Petrey, CEO, HD Growth Partners; Nonprofit Professional of the Year, Andrea Mahone Blackmon, CEO, Andrea Mahone Foundation; Entrepreneur of the Year, Justin White, co-owner and CEO, Advanced Technology Partners; and Small Business Professional of the Year, Leigh Jaffer, multiunit owner / operator, Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream.

Michele Harradence of Enbridge will provide the keynote address. Kip Botirius, executive vice president of Mod Op, will receive the Valley Champion Award.

The cost to attend is $50 per person. Registration by Aug. 21 is requested.
