Jo Dee Messina to play Packard

WARREN — Jo Dee Messina will play Packard Music Hall on April 24, 2026. Between her 1996 debut and 2007, Messina had about 20 top 40 country hits, including “Bye Bye,” “I’m Alright,” “Stand Beside Me” and “Bring on the Rain,” a duet with Tim McGraw. Messina is a two-time Grammy nominee and an ACM, CMA and Billboard award winner. Her first new album in more than decade is slated for release next year, according to her website. BWR hosts Nutty fundraiser

Ballet Western Reserve will host its 4th Nutty Night Out 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Varsity Club, 131 W. Commerce St., Youngstown. The evening will include live music by Mike Rich, specialty drinks, a 50 / 50 raffle and basket raffles. Proceeds from the event support BWR’s annual production of “The Nutcracker,” which will be staged Dec. 6 and 7 at Powers Auditorium and feature live orchestral accompaniment by the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. YSU Jazz Ensemble honors jazz figures

The Youngstown State University Jazz Ensemble will pay tribute to three local and international jazz figures who died this year with its Monday concert. The ensemble, directed by Kent J. Engelhardt, will play “Feels So Good” and “Land of Make Believe” by flugelhorn player Chuck Mangione, who died July 22. Mangione, who had a top-5 single in 1977 with the instrumental “Feels So Good” and a double platinum-selling album of the same name, helped establish a jazz scholarship at YSU. Ghost Walk turns a new page

The annual historical tour through some of the strange, tragic and eerie stories in Trumbull County’s history starts Friday for the first of four nights. Zell Hart Deming, who owned the Warren Tribune and Warren Tribune Chronicle in the first decades of the 20th century and was the first female member of the Associated Press, helps connect this year’s stories together.
