Siblings charged following fight over father’s items

WARREN — Joshua M. Swinyer, 43, of North Park Avenue, was arraigned Friday in Warren Municipal Court on a charge of felonious assault, accused of hitting his sister in the head Sept. 10 with a beer bottle during an argument. The victim, who also was arraigned Friday on a charge of misdemeanor domestic violence, had a large amount of blood coming from a laceration on her head, police said. WARREN — The Trumbull County Family and Children First Council hosted its third annual It Suits You event Saturday at the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority. In collaboration with Cadence Care Network and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, It Suits You is meant to give away male-oriented clothing to teenagers and young adults who otherwise can’t afford dress clothes. Negotiations ongoing in case involving former choirbishop

WARREN — Negotiations are ongoing, but no resolution was reached Monday in the misdemeanor criminal case of Anthony Spinosa, former choirbishop of the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon in North Jackson, regarding his two misdemeanor criminal charges. Spinosa, 75, appeared at the podium with his attorney, Jeff Goodman, for a pretrial hearing before Judge Patricia Knepp in Warren Municipal Court. YBI rings in $35K thanks to grant

The Taco Bell Foundation, an extension of the fast-food restaurant chain, has awarded $35,517 to YBI’s Explore VR program. New law creates state defense and space commission

Gov. Mike DeWine had a bill signing ceremony for a new law to create the Ohio Defense and Space Commission — legislation sponsored by state Rep. Nick Santucci, R-Niles.
