Packard Band marks WWII end

The W.D. Packard Concert Band returns to indoor performances and will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II at its September concert. Conductor Galen S. Karriker will lead the band in a repertoire that mixes patriotic fare with show tunes and classical offerings. Commodores ‘Sail On’ to Westminster

Westminster College’s Orr Auditorium will become a “Brick House” on Saturday when it plays host to The Commodores. The Motown act will open the 2025-26 Celebrity Series. The Commodores were formed in 1968 while attending the Tuskegee Institute. After being discovered by Motown founder Berry Gordy, the group went on to sell 70 million records worldwide. Stage Left presents ‘Wayside School’ play Stage Left Players’ “Sideways Stories from Wayside School” will be staged for three performances at Trinity Playhouse, 234 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon. Playhouse continues free ticket program for needy

Youngstown Playhouse’s Hearts for the Arts will keep beating. The program, which was funded through a $60,000 grant from the Youngstown Foundation, provided free tickets during the Playhouse’s 100th anniversary season for those who might not be able to attend otherwise.
