W. Jean McIntire-Alberty 1925-2018

CHAMPION — W. Jean McIntire-Alberty, 92, of Champion, met her Savior on Tuesday morning, June 12, 2018.

Jean was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Dayton, Pa., the daughter of Martha B. Lias Hawk. She was the granddaughter of John F. C. and Mary Jane Lias, with whom she lived most of her childhood.

Jean married Lyle C. McIntire on Feb. 11, 1944, during World War II. They shared 53 years of marriage with many happy memories in Iowa and Ohio. Lyle proceeded her in death on Nov. 11, 1997.

In 2000, she married her husband’s cousin, Raymond Alberty of Minnesota, living between there and Ohio as his health permitted.

Jean was an active member of Champion Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years. She was a loving homemaker, skilled seamstress and a baker known for her delicious pies. She also enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture and woodwork, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

Cherished memories will be carried on by her family, Joyce (Ronald) Saltzman of Terry, Miss., Jeffrey McIntire of Blanchester, and Deborah (James) Morales and Joan (Thomas) Blazek, both of Champion. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life: David, Steven, Jeffrey, Jill, Christine, Bryan, Joel, Melissa and Nathan; as well as her 14 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be 5 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Champion Church of the Nazarene, 3924 High St. NW, Warren, with Pastor Matthew Slater officiating. Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church. Jean will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Lyle, in the Meadowbrook Memorial Park, Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions be made in her memory to the Champion Church of the Nazarene, 3924 High St. NW, Warren, OH 44483, or Champion Fire Department, 139 Champion Ave. W, Warren, OH 44483.
