BOYS BASKETBALL
Grand Valley 67, Lordstown 21 — Solomon Schultz led the way with 12 points for Grand Valley (9-3). The duo of Carter Turk and Anthony Green had 11 points each. Ganon Force led Lordstown (1-8) with 12 points.
Brookfield 65, Champion 50 — Blake Hammond knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 23 overall for Brookfield. The Warriors also got big games from Brody Smith (16 points) and Rob Flynn (13). Champion had a pair of double digit scorers including Braylen Braham (19) and Damien Jewell-Wickham (16).
Fairport 81, Maplewood 72 — Yomar Castellano led Fairport with 26 points. Brandon Gibson added 20, and Jan Castellano put in 10 for the Skippers. Maplewood was led by Ethan Nevinski with 16 points. David Kern added 15 for the Rockets and Andrew Donaldson had 13.
West Branch 45, Howland 38 — Jeremiah Thomas had 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in an all-around effort for West Branch. Kasen Weaver added 10 for the Warriors. Luca Naples led Howland with 11 points.
Campbell 51, Springfield 43 — Jewan Johnson led Campbell with 15 points. Keniel Alvarez added 10. Isaac Dyer led Springfield with 14 points. Marco Gentile added 10 for the Tigers.
Newton Falls 74, Southeast 65 — Phil Davis had 24 points, including four 3-pointers for Newton Falls. The Tigers had three other players reach double figures including Dallas Dunlap (17), Dallas Dillon (16) and Drayson Moore (11). Southeast was led by Cohen Richardson with 24 points. Richardson knocked down three 3’s. The Southeast duo of Devyn Miller and Joe Sharish had 11 points each.
South Range 59, Cardinal Mooney 50 — Gavin Hiscox had 17 points and Nick Toy scored 16 to lead South Range. The Raiders trailed 41-38 entering the fourth quarter. Dante Turner led Mooney with 15 points. Kingston Powell added 12 and Ford Stacy had 10 for the Cardinals.
Lisbon 56, Valley Christian 45 — Lisbon used a 16-5 third quarter to erase a 29-24 halftime deficit. The Blue Devils were led by AJ Ramgeet with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Blaine Barnes chipped in with 18 points and seven assists. Aiden Ramgeet added 10 points. Valley Christian was led by Deion Miller (15 points), Jordan Tutwiler (14) and Caleb Harrison (10).
Crestview 58, Liberty 47 — After trailing 29-27 at halftime, Crestview outscored Liberty 21-7 in the third quarter to pull away. The Rebels were led by the trio of Tyler Savage (16 points), Elijah Cope (14) and Grant Gernor (13). Liberty was led by Ramsey Hadi-Cox with 16 points and Adam Huynh with 13.
Columbiana 58, Wellsville 50 — Cooper Brown notched a double-double, scoring 22 points and hauling in 12 rebounds for Columbiana. Senator Johnson added 18 points for the Clippers. Hunter Devanzo added 11 points. Austin Adkins (14 points) and Darnell Roe (13) led Wellsville. Andrew Mackey had 10 for the Tigers.
Ursuline 83, NDCL 64 — Noah Bell scored 32 points to lead Ursuline’s (8-2) high-powered offense. Jaylen Gunther added 26 points for the Irish, including a pair of 3-pointers. Alex Simon knocked down a pair of threes and scored 10 overall for Ursuline. Robbie Lipowksi (3-7) led NDCL with 17 points. Jason Rook (12) and Brendon Herron (10) also reached double figures for NDCL.
Canfield 61, Boardman 48 — Jace Riccardo scored 16 to lead Canfield. Joey Gabriel added 15, and Landon Shina scored 11 for the Cardinals. Jayse Varley and Jerry Smith scored 15 each to lead Boardman. Ryan Smith added 11 for the Spartans.
Bristol 56, Mathews 53 — Kaleb Otey knocked down five 3-pointers and scored 18 overall for Bristol. Ryan Gillin added 12 for the Panthers. Mathews was led by Jake Petak with 18 points.
LaBrae 78, Garrettsville Garfield 61 — Lucas Glaser (19 points), Austin Rowe (18) and Angelo Melidona (17) led the way for LaBrae. Oliver Walker and Brandyn Bogucki scored 13 each for Garfield. Devin Bates (12), Parker Gi (11) and Nate Grabowski (10) also reached double figures for the G-Men.
