GIRLS BASKETBALL
South Range 51, Girard 21 — The Raiders outscored Girard 27-12 in the first half on their way to a Northeast 8 win. Gwen Lowry led all scorers with 19 points for the Raiders. Teammates Sophia Lucente and Gabrielle Lucente each scored 10 points. Ally Gassman led the Indians with six points, and Gianna Schubert and Caylee Wilkes each finished with five.
Poland 55, Struthers 30 — After falling behind in the first quarter, the Bulldogs (9-4, 6-1 Northeast 8) responded by outscoring the Wildcats 20-2 in the second quarter. Poland’s Brooklyn Kosco scored a game-high 23 points, and Briella Rowe added 12 points. For Struthers, Emily McDowell scored nine points while Vivian Marker, Natalie Wolikow and Gianna Martin each scored five.
Western Reserve 66, McDonald 43 — Kylee Ramsey scored 20 points for Western Reserve, and teammate Quincy Miller added 18. Sierra Shiley led McDonald with 20 points and Julianna Krumpak finished with 13.
Southeast 70, Champion 45 — A 23-point first quarter put the Pirates in the driver’s seat early in the victory. Mackenzie Braham scored 13 points to lead the Golden Flashes, and Julia Boggs added 12 points. Southeast’s Jenna Canale was the game’s high scorer with 16 points.
Mineral Ridge 62, Waterloo 13 — The Rams dominated in all phases of the game to earn the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference win. Sullivan Sandy led all scorers with 18 points, while Gianna Gilbert tallied 13. Kandence Conaway chipped in seven points and Kelsey Dye had six.
