STRUTHERS — A 15-bout, all-amateur fight card presented by Paolone-n-Burnside Boxing, is set for this Saturday at Struthers Fieldhouse.
Titled “Fight Night 6,” Struthers native Austin “The Bull” Gibson of Burnside Boxing Club is set to go up against Anthony Carlisano of Pittsburgh in the 147-pound main event.
Carlisano is a veteran of 27 fights, while the last time out back on Feb. 1 during the main event of Fight Night 5, Gibson scored a unanimous decision over Tyler James of Cleveland, also at the Struthers Fieldhouse.
Gibson’s victory was his second in a row and pushed his record to 14-6 overall.
“We have six boxers from the Mahoning Valley just chomping at the bit and ready to get into the ring,” local trainer and promoter Keith Burnside said. “The main attraction between Austin Gibson and Anthony Carlisano should be a good one, while the co-main will feature Kavon ‘The Technician’ Cotton of Youngstown Golden String Boxing going up against Xoren Radusewicz, also of Pittsburgh in a 132-pound scrap. Cotton has 24 fights to his credit while Radusewicz is making his 12th appearance in the ring.”
In addition to fighters from the Mahoning Valley and Pittsburgh, other gyms represented hail from Akron, Ashtabula, Cleveland, Louisville and Erie, Pa.
Burnside A.C. will also send to the bell Trent “The Cobra” Corvino, who will host King Derricoatte of Ashtabula in a 122-pound battle, while a match-up of 17 year-olds will feature Karter “The Irish Express” Rudzik making his debut against Logan “The Louisville Slugger,” a four-fight veteran.
Other local fighters training under Tommy Cordell and Sam Calderon at Golden String Boxing Club include Jaden Gonzales, who will meet Nick Majors of Pittsburgh in a 110-pound pairing; Lenox Gonzales, who will go up against Damari Clark at 65 pounds; and Santino Pease, who will make his amateur debut when he goes up against Pittsburgh’s Tyrus Kerr in a 185-pound match-up.
Other boxers making their debuts include Akron’s Damari Clark (65 pounds) and Alex Warner (170 pounds) while boxers with just one fight under their belts are Erie’s Isaiah Trolle (65 pounds), Mandrel Soto (147 pounds) of Ashtabula, Cleveland’s Julian Dolin (138 pounds) and Akron’s Winston Akenteng (170 pounds).
General Admission tickets are $20 with tables of eight available for $300 and $400.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the first fight hitting the bell at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available at Austintown Pawn, 3200 Mahoning Avenue or by calling 330-792-7001.
