Area legends inducted into Trumbull HOF

The 12th annual Trumbull County Sports Hall of Fame recognition dinner Sunday at DiVieste Banquet Center in Warren had a distinct theme of “brotherhood.”

Two sets of twin brothers were inducted and two other 2014 inductees joined brothers who had been enshrined in a previous year.

Twin brothers Richard Brauer and Ray Brauer, 1954 Girard High School graduates, were inducted as contributors.

Former Howland athletes Carl Patrnchak and Joe Patrnchak, 1971 graduates, were inducted for their performances in football, a sport in which the two also were standouts together at Northwestern University.

Kennedy (1980 graduate), it was his baseball exploits that led to a four-year minor-league career in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
