DEAR EDITOR: It is said that Trump is “the greatest geopolitical disaster in history.” In my opinion he is that and more. He is a national disaster and has taken us from status as a world class country to nothing more than a laughingstock to the rest of the world. Our allies have been lost. He has said and done things never imagined from a president of any country. His love and admiration for three of the world’s worst dictators puts Trump in their class for the degradation of humanity. DEAR EDITOR: Remember the COVID-19 pandemic? Remember how frightened the ENTIRE world was, in March of 2020? Our Republican Gov. Mike DeWine had already chosen Dr. Amy Acton to head the health department. He trusted her and together they got us through those uncertain days. However, once things settled, many of us no longer felt the fear or the need to salute the medical workers, teachers, truck drivers or cared to wear masks. Life went on, thankfully, for many of us. Many were left to mourn those we lost. I am truly thankful for the calm direction from Dr Acton during that time. ...

“War is Hell,” said Union General William Tecumseh Sherman in 1879. Pope Leo and three cardinals of the Catholic Church who appeared last Sunday on “60 Minutes,” agree. The problem for these theologians is that for them it appears war is only Hell when it is engaged in by the United States and for the best of reasons.
