Sound off!

In 1975, the state of Ohio commissioned a cost-reduction team to examine waste and inefficiency in state government. After the short, six-week study, the team recommended cuts in specific areas totaling over $8 million per year. In fact, I was told by a member of the team that we barely scratched the surface in that short time. Think of what such a team could find now. Should Ohio be DOGE-ed? For sure.

I can’t figure out why people are mad at Trump for the economy. Biden inherited a great economy and turned it upside down. Gasoline was $2.20 locally when Biden was elected. It went to $4.85, and now it’s under $2.50. Milk was $4.00 now; it’s $2.39. Eggs went to $5.00: now at $2.00. Inflation rose to 9.1%; now at 2.4%. A 30-year fixed mortgage went to 7.79%; now at 6.09%. It takes time to fix the colossal mess Biden left.

Tuesday’s headline demonstrators express dismay is the perfect example of what TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) has done to the Democratic party. Millions of people are marching and protesting. Really, only 60 show up in Warren. Democrats don’t, they just bash Trump. They say Trump thumbs his nose at the Constitution, please list Article and Section that he has done this to. You can’t. Who’s really uniformed? It’s your right to protest — just have substance instead of hatred.

Wake up Warren! Our city is lucky to have Jason Cooke, who has rescued and cared for hundreds of dogs who are abused, neglected and need help. Jason and his wonderful volunteers vet the dogs, care for them and get them adopted. He is dedicated and compassionate and a real asset to our community. Jason deserves to have his contract renewed.

Epstein was more than a demonic pedophile. He was a master money launderer with deep connections to our president, global intelligence agencies, Wall Street CEOs, oligarchs and organized crime bosses. Locals claimed Epstein built a suspicious barn with an incinerator in the middle of his 10-square-mile New Mexico ranch at the border. God knows the world will never know but a fraction of the horrors from Epstein’s Zoro Ranch. Release the files!

To the abolish-ICE crazy Democrats, ICE finds 3,300 missing children in Gov. Walz’s Minnesota. Why do you hate these dedicated patriots? Bless these children and God bless ICE.

To the misinformed liberals, these are the facts. The ballroom, Trump Kennedy Center, Lincoln bathroom redo, White House stadium and the Triumph Arch was and will be funded by private donations and tariff revenue. No tax dollars. As for pharmaceutical ripoff, Trump’s “Most-favored-Nation” ensures the U.S. is paying the lowest drug prices available in comparable countries. As for jet golf trips, I didn’t hear you complain on Obama golf outings and Biden’s weekly beach trips. Hypocrites!

We’ve learned about the heinous atrocities of many influential people because a handful of Republican House representatives had the courage to sign the discharge petition. Sadly, Dave Joyce wasn’t one of them. His website boasts his support for the End Child Trafficking Act at the border. Unfortunately with the Epstein Files he put party over underage victims. Sad and disappointing.

There are plans to hold a “summit meeting” to discuss juvenile violence in Warren — again. Granted, something must be done. However, there have been meetings after meetings, and the same problems exist. Suggestions have included more activities for young people and the availability of the “community” wellness center at WGH. Parents must step up and be parents! Know where your child is. Know who his friends are. Know what he is doing.

JD Vance says having children will help people/women find a purpose in life. What?? Criticizing parents and single women alike for their choices to have or not have children? We do not need this man now or in the White House in 2028. The hypocrite who blasted Trump in 2016 and is now sucking up to him, who said the murder victims in Minnesota are ‘deranged leftists’ and deserved what they got. How can anyone be so reprehensible?

During last week’s announcement that Trump was eliminating major EPA rules, Trump’s EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, looked like he borrowed mascara from Vice President JD Vance. What’s going on with these Republicans? They won the 2024 election by using scare tactics that there might be boys on your daughter’s team and in her locker room, but they seem to all like dressing up like girls.

I might, possibly, be prepared to soften my anti-Democrat stance after watching/listening to the San Francisco mayor’s recent comments to media before the Super Bowl and after reading the Feb. 10 Froma Harrop article titled “Midterms are Dems to lose.” If both the mayor’s warning to troublemakers that pro-police law enforcement would be swift and the content of Harrop’s article that Democrats are now more moderate and on their best behavior (minus the anti-ICE boneheads in Minneapolis), then I might acquiesce and give my old party a political pass.

Because the Dems are desperate — trying to distance themselves from the wacko fringe element of their party — would it be safe to assume that the libs have finally come to their senses and turned the corner enough to say “In Dems We Trust”?

Tonight on the news I heard a public official say the state gave them power to reduce our taxes that they really wish they didn’t have. So embarrassing actually to admit. That thinking is why we are where we are at with property taxes, with officials moving to specific levies so they need not make decisions. We the people NEED LEADERS, not chickens.

MAGA wants Roger Goodell fired. Trump said the halftime show was disgusting; what does he know about art/culture? The NFL always has done a great job. This time they focused on America, not just the U.S. Puerto Rico is in America. This whole show featured Latin-type music and dancing. There was only one song in English; more would have been better. I didn’t need to understand the lyrics before my friends and I got up and started dancing.
