Sound off!
To remove the Cortland mayor, be sure to vote “NO” in the recall election. Don’t be confused by the ballot wording. The ballot asks whether you want the mayor to continue to serve — yes or no. So to remove the mayor, you need to vote “NO” indicating that you do not want the mayor to continue.

Is Martha Yoder going to explain where she got the $89,354.00 ($80,857.00 in principal and $8,497.00 in interest) recently repaid to Bazetta Township? Hopefully the taxpayers of Trumbull County are not footing this restitution!

Hats off to those who helped to make the holiday season brighter around North Bloomfield. To Sandy Kingdom and her crew of many elves who decorated the Commons so beautifully. And to Chris and Holly Ward, who transformed the town hall into a child’s delightful wonderland of trains, trains, and more trains … complete with games and refreshments from the historical Society. To them and all the volunteers who made it happen, thank you!

Adrian Biviano was certified public accountant with a master’s in business administration. He had the skill set to serve as auditor. A critical race in 2026 will be voting for a QUALIFIED person regardless of party affiliation. Everyone must pay close attention to ability, not rhetoric. Several unqualified people are running with no finance background. They need to face certain elimination in the primary election. Why reward former politicians who have already been voted out of office?

Yes, I am glad that Maduro was taken down but please research these other names and years: Mossadegh (1953), Arbenz (1954),Castro (1961), Qasim (1963), Diem (1963), Austin (1983), Duvalier (1986), Noriega (1989), Hussein (2003), Gaddafi (2011). Things did not always go right. I thought Trump wanted to stay out of other countries’ businesses. This was NOT about drugs; it is oil. 47 needs to pay back “big oil” for getting him elected.

Unbelievable … side roads in Warren are still a disaster — nothing but packed-down ice. Surrounding communities have clear streets, why can’t Warren? The mayor and council members should get out and ride around the city — on the side roads! — to see how inefficient our street department is. Start earning that undeserved raise. Do something that helps the people, not yourselves!
— Warren
Warren is nothing if not consistent! Several days after a major snowfall and again, non-thru streets have not been cleared. We are left with huge ice ruts. Hey mayor — come to the northeast side of town and bring the plow trucks with you so they know where to plow when the next snow hits. Remember, we pay taxes…and we also vote!!

U.S. executions have increased to the highest level in 16 years, yet Ohio continues to provide shelter, clothing, food, and medical care for one of the most heinous of all criminals — Danny Lee Hill, who tortured and murdered a young Boy Scout over 40 years ago. Proud of yourself, Gov. DeWine? I bet you would not have signed a moratorium on the death penalty if that young victim had been a relative of yours!

WHERE IS CONGRESS? Are they asleep? Will they let this administration just run amok, going after any country and claiming OUR nation will now run them? Innocent people were killed in this raid. Maduro is corrupt, but then so is the Honduran president Trump pardoned. OUR people need help with basic needs, especially health insurance NOW! Is there anyone in this administration with common sense? Unchecked power has taken over their brains, and it needs to be STOPPED! Lord help us all.

Putin started the war with Ukraine, not the opposite. Putin will not stop till he controls all of Ukraine. No matter what Trump says, he will not end up helping Ukraine as he has always idolized Putin and his dictatorship; there is also a bit of fear of Putin no matter how tough Trump thinks he is. Zelenskyy and Ukraine are in a no-win situation dealing with a liar and a despot.

A recent article in the opinion page of The Vindicator talked about mail-in ballots. The new law requires mail-in ballots arrive by Election Day. The writer, David Skolnick, first had to throw a negative remark about President Trump, which is typical of letters in The Vindicator. Why is this such a big issue with Democrats? I vote by mail most of the time and I always mail my ballot in about three weeks before the election. If you want to vote by mail, don’t wait until the last minute. Remember, you can’t go to the polls the day after the election so why should mail in ballots be accepted.
