Be thankful every day, not just on one day

DEAR EDITOR:

There is so much chaos in this world. Wars and rumors of wars, people are starving and dying. The Republicans are against the Democrats and vice versa.

Prejudice is on the rise. The rich are getting richer and the poor are left struggling. Homelessness is on the rise .. Hunger is prevalent all over the world, even in some parts of the United States There are more people out holding signs that say “that they would work for food.”

So much discord and calamity. So much heartache.

So what should we be thankful for?

We should be glad that we woke up this morning and that our bed was not our cooling board. We should not ever look down on the less fortunate because that could be you. We may not have the finest of things or live in a big fancy house, but think of the homeless who may live in a cardboard box, under bridges or wherever they can.

We should be thankful that we have food to eat. It breaks my heart to see a child that is so thin that they are barely there due to hunger.

It breaks my heart to see the elderly in need, be it from being alone or in need of food Some people may not want a handout, but a hand up

It is a blessing to know that there are agencies, organizations and churches that are giving out food to those in need.

Being a Christian is not just on Sunday but it is every day twenty four seven. Are we our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers? Yes, we are.

We all should give of ourselves to anyone in need. In Hebrews13:2 the Bible states of how you may be entertaining Angels unaware.

In my humble opinion, no one is better or higher than anyone else. We all may fall down, but we get up

Thanksgiving should be every day, in my opinion. We should be glad for all of the blessings that God has bestowed upon us.
