The best choice is to resist and repent

DEAR EDITOR:

We have come to a time where people need to choose in our country. Between Trump, racism, fascism, dictatorship and many other evils or in WE THE PEOPLE, freedom and our country. To my old friends who claim to be Christians and support President Donald Trump and Republicans now, your time is limited for you to repent and change your ways. All you have to do is compare these 3 things that Jesus taught to what you are supporting to know if you are following Jesus.

Help the sick, help feed the poor and the hungry, support and do “no violence.” There are more, like welcome the immigrants, however, when you follow those simple three things you will welcome immigrants. You will act and do as Jesus taught us and the world will be a better place.

Forgiveness comes at a cost. Forgiveness is not a free ticket out of your responsibilities to your fellow human or your environment. Forgiveness means repenting as well, and repenting means accepting your wrongs and working consciously to not do it again.

The biggest lie of religion is when they say all you have to do is “believe” in God and Christ and you are forgiven. There are no “magic words” that get you out of your responsibilities like we try and make here in our physical lives.

This SCOTUS believes in magic words for a President to not obey the laws of the Constitution. There are no such words in the Constitution that do that, all the words are based on facts and a metric to reach before a law can be breached. A president can’t just declare it. It was an honor system for presidents and people to understand this fact. That honor system has been broken by this SCOTUS, the Republican Party and Trump. You can’t legislate everything in the digital. Judgment is required. Simple common sense is not as simple to define in practice.

Do not be scared by Trump and the military. They have no legal or moral ground for invading our cities regardless of SCOTUS saying so. The rank and file need to not participate in these illegal orders from Trump as well as the generals. Continue to protest peacefully as required under the Constitution with no physical violence.

Show up where you can and speak wherever you can no matter how small. It works when we all work it. Do not forget to vote regardless of the threats and intimidation tactics used to stop you from voting. They wouldn’t try to stop you if it did not matter.

Peace and prayers. Resist the evil within.
