McKinley Library recognizes its Friends
DEAR EDITOR:
The Friends of the McKinley Memorial Library is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support the Library’s needs for materials and programs. They are a dedicated group of library lovers and volunteers. The proceeds from fundraising activities and annual memberships are used for a variety of library needs including supporting programming, providing updated furnishings, contributing to new and emerging technology, and helping to support staff training.
Members of the Friends dedicate their time supporting programs and fundraising events including the annual picnic, Halloween Party/Pumpkin Walk, McKinley Christmas, StoryWalk and book sales. In addition, the Friends have rallied countless times to advocate for public library funding.
Oct. 19-25, 2025 is the 20th annual National Friends of Libraries Week, and it’s the perfect opportunity for the staff and trustees of the McKinley Memorial Library to recognize our Friends for all they do to make a positive impact on us every single day.
We know the Friends are always looking for new members and volunteers. If you’re already a member of the Friends, thank you! If you’re curious about joining, please use this website address:

Joining the Friends of the Library is a terrific way to make new friends, give back to our community, and help McKinley Memorial Library.
We couldn’t offer all the incredible free programs we do without their help, and we appreciate everything the Friends of the McKinley Memorial Library do to support our mission!
