What about all the hateful rhetoric from the president?

DEAR EDITOR:

Republicans believe that Charlie Kirk’s death is another act of political violence caused by the malicious, hateful rhetoric from the radical left, and they may be partially correct in that assessment.

VP Vance has made it clear that he believes any person who promotes, condones or incites any political violence, whether on social media, or in person to family or friends, is an accomplice to murder and should be prosecuted accordingly.

Ashli Babbitt, Rosanne Boyland, Kevin Greeson, Benjamin Phillips, Brian Sicknick, Howard Liebengood, Jeffrey Smith, Gunther Hashida and Kyle DeFreytag, victims of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol, also died, assuredly, as a result of political violence incited by the malicious lies and hateful rhetoric of Donald Trump.

Kirk’s accused murderer will be tried, imprisoned and possibly put to death, and justice will be served.

Trump, on the other hand, the person directly responsible for the deaths of 9 people on that day of infamy on Jan. 6, 2021, never faced criminal charges for his part in their deaths and walked away a free man, and with a disgusting disregard for the victims and their families, sowed more hatred by calling it “a day of love.” Where is the justice for these nine lives?

Nobody should wonder why Trump and his Loyalists are the object of so much hate and derision. When the rich and influential can literally get away with murder; when the government intervenes to skew injustice toward the weak and vulnerable; when tyranny threatens our democracy; these are the times when Americans fight back in words, and sometimes, in violence. Trump started this war of words with vile accusations, poisonous lies, childish name-calling, and venomous threats.

As long as Congress chooses to stand by in cowardly fear, loyal to the man, not the Constitution, Trump will continue his tyrannical, infamous and evil march into history.

There will be more violence, and Trump will revel in it, because he doesn’t really give a damn about the collateral damage he causes.
