Sound off!
The Jews gave Pilate the OK to release Barabbas — the murderer — but wanted Jesus turned over to them. Let’s do the same with the Ursuline coach: “Crucify him! Crucify him! they cried.

Whining “Russia-Russia-Russia” leaves the world wondering if Trump is compromised by his close friendship with the former USSR intelligence chief and mega-billionaire, Vladimir Putin. When the USSR dissolved, gangster-style global money laundering ran wild in the Putin, Maxwell, Epstein, Trump circles. Why can’t our president find his backbone around Putin? What is the former KGB agent holding over Trump’s head? More importantly, how is MAGA well-adjusted to this sick, elitist society? Epstein was only one of Trump’s many convicted sex-trafficker friends; do some research.

Hey, Ursuline … too little too late in placing two football coaches on leave and suspending the head coach! School administrators should have been included. Participating athletes should be off the team and suspended. Athletes who were involved and who transferred should also be suspended. Whoever hired the coaches should be banned from school involvement for not doing their due diligence. The football season should be forfeited. Wake up. Do what is right for the sake of the victims.

The news today is how the homicides are down and that is great news. However it is the violence like the shootout at BK and other similar events that occur time and time again that make me wonder if we are just lucky so many shots miss. The shootings are more public and visible now and demonstrate lack of fear of the law. I wrote this last evening, and today as I send it we have another 40 rounds in the streets. Lucky again no one hit, but does that mean it is safer?

So we get someone who wants to build, add jobs and improve their business and our city officials won’t issue permits. STOP IT! Let them build at Up A Creek.

What has happened to amateur athletics? The sports world has become contaminated with greed, immorality and irresponsibility … on all levels. Elite college players are now making unbelievable amounts of money each year. High school football players are involved in unspeakable acts of hazing. Colleges are paying millions to humiliate teams of lower ability. Coaches are neglecting their duties to teach young boys to become men. Is this what we now accept in the name of “sports?”

It is doubtful big government cares about 170 jobs or taxes paid to the county/city by Thomas Steel to grant tariff exemption. Less jobs mean less people paying into Social Security. Less batteries will mean a higher cost to consumers and / or a shortage to where those who need them will pay astronomical costs if they can get them. Batteries power home medical devices, not just kids’ toys. Ramifications are too numerous to write out.

If the allegations against the Ursuline football team are proven to be true, then the following should occur: coaches should be fired and charged; involved players should be expelled and charged; the principal and vice-principal should be fired and charged; the football season should be forfeited; and the school should be put on probation for five years. This is not a case of “boys being boys.” This is a felony. Shameful!

Those who voted for failing GOP leadership need to be accountable. It doesn’t end with the voting booth. Tax dollars squandered. Tariffs that put key businesses at risk. Middle class job loss. Food bank use rising. Don’t listen to the uber rich who say the government is not your nanny. Take responsibility for the choices imposed on all citizens.

It seems as soon as you enter Cortland you smell skunk. You can smell it even with the air on. The problem has been addressed with City Council and the residents were told that it’s the homeowners’ responsibility. Nothing can be done about people feeding skunks either. If Cortland can pay to have cats spayed and neutered, why can’t they do anything about skunks? They can carry rabies. If they keep multiplying, the only thing living in Cortland will be the skunks.

Power and control are earned through abuse. Group acceptance is conditional. Silence is safer than speaking up. Authority figures do not protect you. Long-term emotional trauma lasts forever. This toxic culture must be stopped. Those abused in the past need to come forward. The Ursuline High School football program needs to be shut down, NOW. The people of authority need to be held accountable.

In a MAGA about-face, 5,000 churches have banded together in consideration of ways to protect innocent American family members from ICE’s Gestapo-like kidnappings. Thousands of “illegal” people have already disappeared into deplorable prisons of random Third-World countries. This is the single most chilling real life comparison so far between the Trump regime and the Nazi regime’s inhumane run-up to WWII. Remember, denouncing rampant unconstitutional lawlessness is the very opposite of being un-American. WWJD?

In the 2016 debate, Trump shouted his solution to heal America’s racism divide: “I’ll bring the national guard into black cities because they’re living in hell!” Note: Trump was always a country club snob. Re-gentrification is his plan to “just have” black folks’ prime downtown real estate (as in the Trump-Kushner Beachfront Gaza Strip Luxury Resort) or his upcoming “Remove the brown from Chi-town.” Not even Hitler pretended his evil deeds were humanitarian acts or insisted on a Nobel Peace Prize.
