DEAR EDITOR:

I sat in the front row of the Trumbull County commissioners’ meeting on Aug. 30 where there was discussion concerning the loss of WRTA busing. I heard every word from everyone that spoke.

During all the rhetoric flying back and forth I heard, “We need the bus service” dozens of times from different people.

Not one person in the audience could or did suggest how to fund the bus service so it is funded fairly by the folks who need the bus service, except Commissioner Mauro Cantalamessa.

Commissioner Cantalamessa said, and I quote, “Get the different groups and political parties and subdivisions to put up money to fund the bus service and Trumbull County will match it.”

So there you have it. No multi-million dollar sales tax increase. It was simply put.

Kudos to Mauro Cantalamessa and Dennis Malloy for sticking up for every resident in Trumbull County.
